From the cars, buses, and subway underground 
Even with the buildings that surround 

A place for some to visit and some to live 
But always a place to feel surrounded by many 

A community filled with many other communities 
Many ways for people to feel so welcomed and filled with emotion 

Long and separated lines 
Yellow and white or black and white 

Cars going in both directions 
Some faster than others 

Passing buildings and homes 
Different signs with different outcomes 

The scenery constantly changing 
But somehow still staying the same 

A beginning and end destination
