This is a scene of the Arcadia Apache Marching band in the backfield. The painting is done on a mural to allow the viewers to look at the work from the perspective of the centered Drum Major. I usually don't like to include any information about myself in any art, but I do like to explain the intent of this work. As a member of the band, we are often cheered for our performances on the field. Rather than being cheered for the result, the "behind-the-scenes" is often hidden from the audiences, therefore I want to also acknowledge the hard work we have paid to achieve the successes. By illustrating the scene of warming up in the backfield, audiences are viewing the backstage, while standing at the perspective that ones don't usually see while sitting in the bleachers. The creation of this artwork is not only to pay salute to my four years of highschool dedicated to the band program, but also to encourage students to pay more attention to this wonderful group at this school.
